Every dog and every context are different
A visible behavior may have several possible causes, including learning, environment, emotion, pain, illness, or neurologic change. A description that fits many dogs may not explain yours. Do not start, stop, or change medication, diet, supplements, restraint, or treatment because of this material.

Contact a veterinarian for sudden or major behavior change, suspected pain, breathing trouble, collapse, repeated vomiting or diarrhea, toxin exposure, disorientation, seizures, self-injury, or any other health concern. For immediate danger, use your local emergency veterinary service.
Aggression, guarding, escape attempts, and bite risk require real-world safety management. Avoid confrontation, separate children and vulnerable people from risk, and seek a veterinarian or credentialed behavior professional.
